My Experience with French Skincare

Consensus states that French skincare is the best skincare. True, Korean beauty is putting up a fight, but French skincare is still the classic to beat. No surprise, I wanted experience it for myself. 

Over the summer, I spend some time in France. I road tripped from the north to the south of France and I stayed in Paris for a few days. So, there was no way I wasn't going to take advantage of my time there and find out what all the skincare fuss was about. So, I did my research and found out what the staple  French/Parisian skincare product were.

Ruffle Rumble

This tomboy is making her way into girlines with this spring-summer trend: ruffles! I used to avoid ruffles like there was no tomorrow. An expression of disgust would adorn my face every time my mom would try to get me to put on a frilly ruffle-y dress. What can I say? I just have always liked a simpler minimal look. However, now ruffles are back - and I am actually picking out my own clothes - I seem to have found a piece of clothing combining my minimal style and my secret love for some ruffles here and there

Sun Kissed Glow

I have been enjoying minimal makeup lately. I just use a bunch of SPF, some under eye concealing , mascara and I’m good the go! … So you would think. Here are some tips and tricks on how to fake the summer/spring sun kissed glowy look without or before having to spend hours in the burning sun.

New Season, New Eyeshadow stick | Essence Review

It’s a well-known fact that I’m a sucker for a good cream eyeshadow, preferably in stick form. I’m just not a morning person. So I can’t be bothered with putting a lot of time into my makeup on the early mornings. In February, I reviewed the Rimmel Magnifeyes eyeshadow stick, and I still love that one, but I lately I have been loving a more minimal and simple look and the Rimmel one is quite full on. So, I decided to branch out and try the new Essence 2-in-1 eyeshadow & liner sticks.

TOMBOY DRESS UP | Dungaree Dress

Being a tomboy by nature, I have never been one for dresses or skirts. The times I did wear one, it was mainly because of silly gender roles and a stupid will to fit in. This dungaree dress however complements my not so girly personality perfectly. It’s a plain black denim dress with a minimalist seventies feel. And I have been all about those seventies lately. Not the in your face floral print kind, but more so a dialed down minimal version. After all, I do have to brave the streets and stares of 2k16.

No Makeup Sunday

After a week of foundations, blushes and bronzers, a day without makeup can do wonders to your skin. To make sure my skin gets to recover from a week of makeup, I have at least one makeup free day every week. I tend to have one on Sundays. On those, I usually stay in, relax and catch up on some work for school. It’s the perfect day for me and my skin to take a breather.

What I Got For My 21st Birthday

On Saturday, April 2nd, I turned twenty-one. To celebrate, my family and friends gave me some amazing gifts. From makeup, to skincare, to jewelry, to books and movie tickets. They spoiled me rotten. I’m so grateful to have these lovely people in my life. Here are some of the things they got me.

Messy Hairstyles for More Volume

In the past year my hair has become quite thin and flat. Because of this, I cut it to shoulder length. I was able to donate to charity as well as to get some volume back in. I do however like to style it in ways so it's more voluminous. To share my knowledge with you, I decided to start a trilogy in which I explain how to get more volume into your hair.

Fixing Brow Wax??! | EYEBROW ROUTINE

My brow routine has been pretty steady ever since Cara Delevigne rocked her luscious brows and the phrase ‘on fleek’ became a thing. Since a week or two ago, however, a have been trying a little something new. I picked up a styling brow wax. After trying it for a while, I do get what they were getting at, but it does has some down sides. Anyways, let’s tackle those cons when we get there and start the routine. 

I cut and donated my hair!

I went short! Well… shoulder length. I cut about 20-25 centimeters of my hair and donated the whole bunch to charity. I’m so happy with the result!

Base Makeup | Foundation Routine

I have talked about lipsticks, nail polishes, eyeshadows, eyeliners and mascara’s. It’s probably about time I say a little something about the base of all of that. I know, it’s way more fun to experiment with different colors and you can’t really do that with base products. However, when you don’t have your base products figured out, the rest of your makeup won’t be able to fully be it’s fabulous self. So, let’s get those moisturizers, primers, foundations and blushers out and get started!

As a blogger, it can be difficult to determine what your blog is going to be. You might chose a niche to work in, like Beauty and Lifestyle. But after a while of doing the textbook thing, you want to start putting more of yourself in what you do. It might be nice for people to know whether you like a product or not, but what keeps your readers coming back is personality and a different take on the usual stuff. This is how I combine my interests into original content.

From Scandaleyes To Magnifeyes - A Rimmel Upgrade!

It’s a long one so for you hasty people: Rimmel brought out a new range of improved eyeshadow sticks. The old Scandaleyes had to make room for the Magnifeyes. The colors are pretty much the exact same. The formula and packaging however finally got the makeover they long craved for. (How have I not seen this one pop up anywhere else??!)
