My Experience with French Skincare

Consensus states that French skincare is the best skincare. True, Korean beauty is putting up a fight, but French skincare is still the classic to beat. No surprise, I wanted experience it for myself.

Over the summer, I spend some time in France. I road tripped from the north to the south of France and I stayed in Paris for a few days. So, there was no way I wasn't going to take advantage of my time there and find out what all the skincare fuss was about. So, I did my research and found out what the staple  French/Parisian skincare product were.

What To Read This Summer

No chick lits or gossip magazines on the side of the pool this year. It's time to change things up a little. Throw those damsel in destress and celeb nudes to the side, because this is what you should be reading this summer.

Big City Life | Brussels

This past week, I have been staying in Bruxelles for a pretty amazing internship. I still have two weeks to go, but how I wish it could be more. I’m not only taking the first steps towards doing the thing that I love. The internship also got me back in a “big city”. A place that breathes culture and movement. A place where I feel at home.

What's In My Bag?

Curious to see what’s in my bag? Or just nosey in general? Feel free to have a little rumble through my organized mess of a bag in this video. The bag I’m using at the moment is a River Island bag. If you want to know more about the bag or the way I organize my bags, feel free to read about it in previous blogposts. I hope you enjoy!

No Makeup Sunday

After a week of foundations, blushes and bronzers, a day without makeup can do wonders to your skin. To make sure my skin gets to recover from a week of makeup, I have at least one makeup free day every week. I tend to have one on Sundays. On those, I usually stay in, relax and catch up on some work for school. It’s the perfect day for me and my skin to take a breather.

The Fragrance That Took Over - YSL Black Opium

I’m all for a dark musky perfume. I find they tend to be timeless, so I rarely grow tired of them. But l was ready for a little something new. And since I was at our local perfumery and there just happened to be an offer on all perfumes, I went for the YSL Black Opium eau de parfum.

Spiced Christmas Cookies

This Friday, my friend and I made some delicious Christmas cookies! We made spiced ginger cooies. For this we used a recipe I have been using and fine-tuning for a while now and I think we might have finally found the perfect recipe.

What you’ll need (for about 30 yummy cookies)

Winter Reads

The first snow of the year has fallen to the ground and the sun sets at around 3 o’clock. Winter is here and the cold short days make for the perfect excuse to stay inside and cuddle up under a warm blanket. Even though I am a fore stander of the concept ‘Netflix and chill’, nothing tops a good book and a cup of coffee in my opinion. These are some of my favorite wintery reads.

VLOGMAS DAY 1 I The Christmas Tag!!

Hey there!

I decided to do Vlogmas this year and I am super excited! I can’t wait to share decorating the Christmas tree, baking cookies, celebrating Sinterklaas, and many other things with you guys! In between those fun parts however, I am going to be preparing for my first exams at my new school, so I am probably going to miss some days. Or you’re going to see me have a few nervous breakdowns :p. Oh well, it’s all part of the deal. I will do my very best to upload as many videos as I can though!

Merry Vlogmas!

Oversharing and Finding the Right Content

Hey! I have been absent for a while. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been coming up with content. I have been writing quite a lot so, if everything goes to plan, you won’t have to miss me in the upcoming weeks! The reason I haven’t been uploading is that, for one, the days are super short and the few hours there is light to make blog photos I am usually in school. And secondly, I have been contemplating what kind of content I want to put out there. I called this blog Frivolous Affairs because I needed a place to come and be frivolous. However, I do miss having somewhat more serious discussions.

Digital Detox

After thigh gaps and lip fillers there might actually be a positive hype going around. The Digital Detox, it’s been a long time coming. With social media taking over every aspect of our lives, social boundaries are being blurred left right and center. Many people are getting overwhelmed and are cutting down on the time they spend on the internet.

Coffee, Intestines and the Wheelchair of Doom

Today I was wandering around town, getting some fall/winter essentials I had run out of,... when I decided to stop by one of my old favorite coffee places. It is currently freezing in Belgium at the moment. And, don’t get me wrong, I love this kind of weather. But now and then you just have to escape it and warm up with a nice cup of basic bitch all-carameled-and-whipped-creamed-out coffee. So, I decided to revisit this old goldie where I used to pass my time during high school. (By this I mean

FALLalalalalalalalaaaa

As summer is coming to an end, fall is making its grand entrance. Rain is pouring down, leaves are starting to turn all kinds of beautiful colors and with school starting again we are all spending a lot more time indoors with a blanket clasping a steaming cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. And I love it! So, I decided to do a little fall series. I’ll talk about what I do, wear, put on my face (read: make up),…
Now, get yourself a blanket and a cup of whatever you want because we are discussing indoor activities!
