A Wild Autumn Appears | KIKO Eyeshadow Review

Dear autumn, we've missed you. I've missed you. My makeup missed you. Welcome back, my love. You know autumn, I'm not going to keep this from you. I cheated a little bit. My berry lip saw the heath of summer and so did my warm eyeshadows. I know, I really messed things up. So, to make it up to you, I got you a little present. A customised eyeshadow trio. Just for you, Autumn.

My Experience with French Skincare

Consensus states that French skincare is the best skincare. True, Korean beauty is putting up a fight, but French skincare is still the classic to beat. No surprise, I wanted experience it for myself.

Over the summer, I spend some time in France. I road tripped from the north to the south of France and I stayed in Paris for a few days. So, there was no way I wasn't going to take advantage of my time there and find out what all the skincare fuss was about. So, I did my research and found out what the staple  French/Parisian skincare product were.

My Biggest Beauty Mistakes

Today, I bought myself a white lipstick. It was part of a halloween range and I got all excited. It was new, it had a cool name and sleep deprived me just had to get it. Now, after one or two coffees and a bowl of Chinese food, I realise that I might have made my biggest beauty mistake yet. It's the perfect occasion to look back on all the beauty mistakes I have made in the past.

The Timeless Three | OOTW

Yet another week has passed. This one, just as the other's these past months, was packed. I started the week out in sunny Paris wearing dresses and shorts. However, when the weather turned a bit grey, I found myself in a somewhat classic smart outfit. My somewhat masculine fashion sense was satisfied, and so, I ended up wearing this combo to the Antwerp Fashion Festival fashion show.

I've been getting a lot of complements on my makeup lately. Especially on my "bone structure". So, let's have a look at the NYX Wonder Stick.

Fringe Fest | OOTW

I've been all about my fringes this week. Fringes on my shoes, fringes on my jacket. Yes, please! My obsession with fringes started this past fall when they were all that. I am aware that they have past a bit by now, but when I saw these items in the sales, I couldn't help but get them anyway. Let's have a look at this week's outfit!

What To Read This Summer

No chick lits or gossip magazines on the side of the pool this year. It's time to change things up a little. Throw those damsel in destress and celeb nudes to the side, because this is what you should be reading this summer.

'She is wearing a hat!' | The Charlie Bowler

A hat. What do you think? Is it supercilious or is it just another way to make your outfit more interesting? I often feel like you can’t just wear a hat because you feel like wearing a hat. A hat is loud. It screams ‘I am wearing a hat!’ It all seems very obvious and in your face. Not very Jana to be honest. But, I bought this hat for a reason and it’s not going to fulfill its life purpose by collecting dust in my wardrobe. So, throw me a cane and get out of my way, because I’m Charlie Chaplining throughout my day!

The search for a new pair of jeans is never an easy one. Combine that with long legs, wide hips and a tiny waist and it because pretty much impossible. Luckily after many shopping trips – poor me :p – I found two pairs that fit me like a glove. These are my perfect pairs of jeans and how I found them.

Base Makeup | Foundation Routine

I have talked about lipsticks, nail polishes, eyeshadows, eyeliners and mascara’s. It’s probably about time I say a little something about the base of all of that. I know, it’s way more fun to experiment with different colors and you can’t really do that with base products. However, when you don’t have your base products figured out, the rest of your makeup won’t be able to fully be it’s fabulous self. So, let’s get those moisturizers, primers, foundations and blushers out and get started!

My Very First Beauty Products

First Beauty Products

Let’s take a little stroll down memory lane and discuss the very first beauty products we ever bought. I got to know make up and beauty products in two phases. The first phase was the one when I was too embarrassed to ask for help and therefore was determined to figure everything out for myself. Do notice that this was before YouTube was a magic make up tutorial machine maker and before I could understand and talk proper English. So, online help was hard to find and if I did, I couldn’t make any sense out of it. And so little me took on this glorious beast that is Makeup all by herself. And I have to be honest, it could have been worse.

Digital Detox

After thigh gaps and lip fillers there might actually be a positive hype going around. The Digital Detox, it’s been a long time coming. With social media taking over every aspect of our lives, social boundaries are being blurred left right and center. Many people are getting overwhelmed and are cutting down on the time they spend on the internet.

Top 5 Skincare Products

It is no secret that I love experimenting with my beauty products. New eyeshadows or lipsticks are welcome any day. I’ll try out as many as I can on my little student budget. But, to be able to use all these amazing products without breaking out all over the place, I have to follow my skincare routine. Over the years I seem to have found one that is perfect for my skin and the problems it comes across. I have been using the same skincare products for years now. A dermatologist recommended some products to me when I was about 14. And I have stuck to them ever since. Sure I have made some slight changes and added some products here and there since your skin changes over time. But the core pretty much stayed unaltered.
